Tofacitinib

Tofacitinib is a Janus kinase (JAK) enzyme inhibitor. JAKs are intracellular enzymes that affect the signals caused by the binding of inflammatory cells or cell growth factors with the receptors present in the cell membrane, thereby influencing the function of hematopoietic cells and the immune system. Tofacitinib changes the signal transmission pathways at the site of the Janus kinase enzyme and prevents the phosphorylation and activation of the signaling pathways of inflammatory factors and gene expression related to them.

Tofacitinib is an immunosuppressive drug that reduces inflammatory responses in the immune system by inhibiting the Janus kinase enzyme.

Uses of Tofacitinib

Tofacitinib is used in the treatment of moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis. It is also used to prevent organ transplant rejection and is being researched in the treatment of psoriasis.

Method of Use

Take Tofacitinib as directed by your doctor.

The usual dose of Tofacitinib in rheumatoid arthritis is 5 mg 2 times a day.
The usual dose of this drug in psoriatic arthritis is 5 mg 2 times a day.
The usual dose of this drug in ulcerative colitis: 10 mg twice a day for at least 8 weeks, and 5 mg twice a day according to the observed therapeutic response. or 10 mg is prescribed. After 16 weeks of taking Tofacitinib 2 times a day and 10 mg each time, if no therapeutic response is observed, it is not recommended to continue the treatment.
